A Bad Experience with OLA cabs Hyderabad

I'm not usually the type to do complaint blogs but this time I really want to slam my hand right across on the table and rant a big deal about it on my blog. Why you ask? Just because I don't want anyone reading this post to face the same thing I did. Here is what happened.

I was looking for a car from Musheerabad to Indira park for my Grandparent's doctor appointment. I made it very clear to the kind executive at the help desk who was assisting my booking that I needed a car at the earliest. She booked an available car clearly stating that it will take 30 mins for my car to reach the pickup point. I was okay with that. What I don't understand is the cab driver calling me up as soon as the booking is confirmed and telling me  bluntly- 'Madam it will take a lot of time for me to reach. Ola people will say that we will reach early. Please ask for some other cab or better yet cancel'. That was seriously Strict Unprofessional Behaviour!

Somehow I spoke to the customer care and they arranged a conference call with the driver and surprisingly now he agreed to arrive on the mentioned pick up time.

Next issue. The driver simply couldn't understand the pick up location. I mean how hard is it for anyone to locate the very vast cafe coffee day right opposite to the Gandhi Hospital! My family literally had to hire an auto and reach halfway to the destination because it was getting late for their first appointment which they hoped they will reach in the OLA cab. The driver who was supposed to reach at 12.30 ended up reaching at 1.00 and that too not at the mentioned pick up point.

Third issue. There was unexpected waiting involved and I as well aware of the OLA waiting charges. I informed the driver that he might need to wait. He waited for long time and I appreciated his patience. What I didn't appreciate though was that he collected 238 rupees instead of the actual bill amount of 140. After a good amount of waiting he calls me up and tells me that the wait is too much to handle and that he has to leave. He behaved very unprofessionally with my family and kept yelling at them for making them wait. Unable to bear any more inconvenience we had to simply discontinue our travel with OLA. 

Its not just the money I'm concerned about but the way the drivers are representing Ola as an entity and defaming it. My family is now completely against travelling with Ola because of this experience. Next time any of you plan on booking a ride with OLA, think again.


P.S:  Just so you know, I ended up writing a big email to OLA two days back explaining my complaint and still no response.
18-Apr-2015 Update: They emailed me saying they were sorry and that it will not happen again. Yeah Right! I'm soooo sure it will sooo  happen again.
