Simple Kind Things in Life

The most randomest act of kindness to make up for a boring day is when a security guard at the exit of your office door whole heartedly wishes your tired and grumpy self with a warm smile and says - 'Have A Good Day'. # TrueStoriesAtDeloitte

Happy Womens Day

This women's day, I'm reminded of the many wonderful women who keep inspiring me in my day to day life. Working in a organization let by a female CEO is kind of a morale booster reminding me of the fact that women are in fact capable of doing the same things exactly as good as men. Yes, I know we have a lot on our mind,  And Yes, the biggest priority on every woman's mind are first her kids, spouses, parents and then work And Yes, we are not necessarily the world's most awesome fast drivers. But yes, I've seen female police officers on the metro single handedly ward of goons and thugs who make nuisance in the ladies coach, and yes, I have seen grown up women fulfil their responsibility of taking care of their parents much better than their sons- single  handedly managing the hospital trips, the grocery shopping, the cleaning, the medicines, the life changing decision to go ahead or skip the surgery for a sick family member,  and yes, I have seen th...

Why Valentines Day?

This Valentine’s Day I'm wiser than the last. I'm reminded that relationships are simply relationships. There is no such thing as a ‘wonderful couple’ or a ‘terrible couple’. There are simply ‘couples’. Man and Woman united by chance or by choice and fated to spend the rest of their lives together for better or for worse. The better being like the icing on the cake when two people get to experience many firsts and get to know each other and be fascinated by everything that is new. The newness of it all seems enthralling and it seems like this is what all the books and fairy tales talk of what love it. On the other side, once the better is over, the worse creeps in. You realize that all the icing is over and all that remains is the ugly cake with all the icing licked off. You can simply throw the ugly cake away, but you don’t. The cake isn't really a cake without the icing and the icing doesn't have any use whatsoever without the cake either. It’s the best and the wors...

Does where you live determine how successful/normal you are?

You think postcodes don't matter? You think no matter where you are, your surroundings have no say in determining how successful you are or will become? Think Again. This video I've just found completely changed my thoughts. VIDEO LINK

7 Elephants of our Indian society that no one is willing to acknowledge or talk about

1.Population This is by far the biggest elephant in our society. It is just a matter of self realization that needs to happen in each individual to wisely plan for kids and not over populate the country. 5 rupees can be distributed wisely between 5 people and is even easy to keep track. Now imagine that same 5 rupees that need to be divides to 500 people. At some point the government loses track on how to spend the money and where it is going. Think again readers. If you really want more kids, think of the many orphans who would give anything just for mom's love and dad's embrace. 2.Homelessness You don't really need a looking glass to notice this. Every corner of every 5th street you find people living on the roads. And by living on the road I mean literally living on the roads. They eat on the roads, sleep on the roads, brush their teeth on the road and even take bath on the roads. What is being done by the government to address this, I wonder. 3.India's IT h...

A One of a kind Friendship

Today I'll tell you about a wonderful kind of friendship I was fortunate enough to witness. In a world where friends are so caught up in life to talk to each other and the best way to keep friends closer is with silence I met Mr S and his friend on a warm Wednesday Evening. You see Mr S is Visually Challenged.I was volunteering to help him out with his study material and he came at the mentioned time to my office gate to collect the audio content. He came with a guide friend and was waiting near the escalator at the office. It was not hard to spot these friends. They were busy chatting and laughing and giggling! What a sight for me to see who was already having a rough day at work dealing with friendships falling apart and memories fading away. It was not too long before I engaged myself in a conversation with S and his friend to know more about their friendship. Turns out, both of them are studying the same course in the same college are classmates. This friend takes S to all t...
